In 1988, the Australian Nursing Home Foundation was allocated 24 units (3 levels) in this public housing estate at Surry Hills by the Department of Housing NSW to meet the immediate need of housing problems experienced by older people of Chinese background living in the City of Sydney.
This public housing estate in Surry Hills is within walking distance to Darlinghurst, Hyde Park and Chinatown. These units are situated between Level 6 and Level 8 within a 13-storey building with elevator service. A community hall on Level 5 has been allocated for the Chinese residents with meeting facilities and Chinese satellite TV provided by ANHF.
Each unit consists of one-bedroom with ensuite and an open kitchen leading to the lounge and dining area and a balcony. All units are wheelchair accessible.
Admission is only for older people aged 65 or above who are eligible for public housing and has registered with the Department of Housing NSW.
