Bernard Chan Nursing Home is located at 58 Weldon Street, Burwood. It is within walking distance to bus stops and train stations.
It was completely refurbished with 30 beds and had begun to admit new residents since 9 July 1997. In 2001 a new extension was being built to increase the facility to 45 high care beds (i.e. 7 single rooms, 14 twin-shared rooms, 2 three-bed rooms and 1 four-bed room). Other facilities include activity/dining room, lounge areas, courtyards, laundry and car park. In 2008, So Wai Lifestyle Activity Centre (a purpose built dementia centre for the SE Asian communities) was established as part of Bernard Chan Nursing Home which currently operates as a demonstration site for day respite within a residential care facility.
